NFAMC Evacuation Efforts

June 14th, as flames began to ravage the Huachuca Mountains, New Frontier Animal Medical center began a relief effort that would prove to grow exponentially over the following week.

NFAMC opened its doors to hundreds of evacuated families, giving temporary housing to animals of all kinds; dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, turtles - we took them all in. Those animals we were not able to house were matched with volunteers who welcomed these displaced pets into their homes.

New Frontier would like to thank everybody who provided aid to those in need; in particular, we offer our heart-felt appreciation to those individuals who offered their time, supplies and support during this time of crisis.

Letter from the Mayor

Dear New Frontier Staff:

On behalf of the City of Sierra Vista, please accept my sincere appreciation and gratitude for your hard work and dedicated service to the community during the Monument Fire crisis.

New Frontier Animal Medical Center went above and beyond in providing animal care and shelter to pets of owners who were evacuated. The service provided by New Frontier Animal Medicl Center staff meant one less worry for our displaced residents, and provided relief during an extremely stressful situation for those impacted by the fire.

We also offer the highest praise to the volunteers who stepped up to assist in providing care to the many animals at the temporary shelter.

I am proud to be mayor of such a caring community. Today we are a stronger and a very grateful community for your extraordinary contribution.

Sincerely,

Frederick W. Mueller
Mayor
